Soto served as the principal engineer in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States. He has experience in robotics for decades as he began building robots while in college.

The engineer emerged in a discovery channel television series Battlebots as part of Team Revolution, where they worked together to combat in an elimination tournament.
In 2016, Battlebots invited the engineer to the show and asked the Mako team to join him. The team built a heavyweight robot Rotator and participated in every season since ABC season 2. However, they lost the competition.
The Team Revolution consists of Mark Palm, Jordan Sangerman, Goran Kadribasic, Tim Perez, Carl Gayle, Gary Nguyen, Dave Sinclair, Jennifer Fox, Shawn Kroll, and more.
After competing for a few years, Soto and his team received success in their field and has sponsored by Stryker, which allowed them to materials for robots. Also, 2018 was the breakout year for the engineer when they won many fights and reached a single elimination round.
Afterward, they went back to the tournament with major updates every year. The team competed in discover season 7 World Championship VII with Rotator and was listed 14 in the BattleBots season power ranking.
Soto has struggled hard for his achievement. He spends months working on two heavyweight robots every day until 10 pm, including weekends, and finishes off the last day by packing a 2000lbs crate.
